Okay. So here we go. Welcome to “BATGIRLS!!” (the manga). The goal is, everyone who reads can also be the writers. This web comic is entirely crowd-sourced. You send me scripts; I draw and post. As long as I have scripts and time, I will update this web comic 1-to-3 times a week. (Monday-Wednesday-Friday) We start this week, October 11th.
Originally, this was going to go on my personal Tumblr, but given my recent jump in followers, I know I’ll post a bunch of stuff none of you care about, so “BATGIRLS!!” is getting it’s own Tumblr account.
We are going to entirely blame the Tumblr comics community for this happening at all. Specifically? I guess we can blame AdventuresOfComicBookGirl and I. She wrote this rant about how much fun it would be to have a batgirls manga with all three batgirls operating at once with a little bit of shoujo manga tropes thrown in and mixed with the fun aspect of the online comics fandom that is basically accepting of every type of sexuality out there. I thought the idea was awesome, and pumped out a few chibi drawings and one horrendous cover concept sketch. Next thing I know, I’ve got a few really positive reblogs about it from my personal Tumblr —with its less than 30 followers— so that’s a lot of response for me.
I start thinking; it’s been 5 (or 7, ack) years since I was regularly producing a webcomic. That used to be a lot of fun. So I made an offer. If people send me scripts, I’ll draw more “BATGIRLS!!”. I don’t want to write, but I’ll be happy to draw it. AoCBG, DiscoWing, and a few other awesome Tumblr-folk pimped the offer out over Tumblr and at Scans_Daily, and now I have a few concepts and scripts sitting in my Tumblr messages center to get started with. I’ll always need more though, of course. Check the sidebar’s About & FAQ to see how to send scripts.
I’m a far cry from the best artist ever, but I should improve as I draw regularly. So bear with me, and feel free to send me a message if I completely screw up. This is all just meant to be good fun though.

TrainingAdventure time with big sis’ Babs and big bro’ Dick!I don’t know. I have this idea in my head where for manga-verse “Batgirls!!” Barbara is non-paralyzed and on-again-off-again dating Dick. Cass is Dick’s adopted younger sister at the Wayne house. Cass, Babs, and Steph are all good friends with Babs being kind of a mentor/big sister figure. ALL THREE OF THEM operate as a team of Batgirls. And occasionally they drag Nightwing along for the ride, often to his chagrin.
Playing with an idea put forth by adventuresofcomicbookgirl. Batgirls!! the manga. It’d be fun.
